In my own school of thought based on the time I have spent in and around Kampala city, I always feel pity for the blind, The limbless , the lame and all the needy who sit on the streets doing nothing but begging for food, I have always dropped acoin every time I have it, but today, I had nothing to give to avery needy young man who sat next to a healthy able bodied lady ( both there all seated but the other selling for a living) . Today I have an Idea I would like to sell to some one out there, If you, the government , Interested NGO or perhaps myself, empowered these our brothers and sisters with entrepreneurship skills and capital, trust me we can have a beggar free generation. This is possible, instead of them sitting Idle begging for a coin, they can watch and sell news papers, sweets, scholastic materials, airtime. I do believe they can do this job, Disability is not inability, Its laziness for an able bodied man or woman to sit on the street selling news papers or afew scholastic materials laid on the floor. let the able bodied people leave this business for the disabled .The streets should be a business for the endangered minority. I strongly believe that if this is considered then surely there will be a drastic change that can subsequently led to a beggar free Generation.
